Surgically Clean Air
Our Practice is always looking for ways to invest in our patient’s overall health and well-being. We have purchased a medical grade air purification system: “Surgically Clean Air” (SurgicallyCleanAir.com) These world-class medical-grade air purifiers use a 6-stage filtration system to filter particulates and allergens out of the air, killing bacteria, VIRUSES, mold, fungi and removing Chemicals, Toxins, Germs, and Odors. This system helps to eliminate the spread of illness. These filters meet the guidelines* for general surgery applications. *ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 52.2-2007
There will be a larger Carbon Granite unit installed in the main operatory. There will also be five JADE units throughout the rest of the office including the waiting room and hygiene room.

Our exclusive six stages of technology not only filter the air – we also sterilize it. We diminish everything that is in the air: bio-aerosols, odors, gasses, disinfectants, particulates, molds, viruses, bacteria and fungus. We also re-energize the air to combat fatigue and to give the air a ‘lighter’ feel.

NEGATIVE PRESSURE ROOM
In addition to the air purification units, I have also installed an industrial sized exhaust system in my main operatory (see photo). This system helps create what is termed as “negative pressure”. With the fan running, any aerosol or particulate released into the room is immediately sucked out of the room through a very powerful 8 inch vent. In fact, all air flow in and around the room flows in the direction of the vent. For example, if you were to light a match and blow it out from outside the operatory door, the smoke would quickly flow into the room, under the door and out the vent. This is extremely effective in reducing cross contamination between patients and to the rest of the office. This is the same type of technology used in hospitals to isolate patients with highly infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis or Covid-19.
INFECTION CONTROL
Our infection control processes have always exceeded the CDC guidelines for UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS. All of our surfaces are thoroughly disinfected before and after every patient visit. We wash our hands constantly. We also now wear full surgical gowns, face shields, and respirators with all patients. We follow these recommendations to keep our patients and ourselves safe and healthy.
